If there is one thing Louisville does well (besides the Kentucky Derby), it's museums. Museum row on main is home to 9 downtown attractions that are all within walking distance of each other. Attractions here include the Frazier International Hisotry Museum, The Muhammad Ali Centre, The Kentucky Centre for the Performing Arts and the Louisville Science Centre, just to name a few.

3. Louisville Zoo

The Louisville Zoo can easily be found just 15 minutes from Downtown Louisville, and is a great destination to take the whole family. Take the kids to various shows and exhibits such as Elephant Aerobics, Giraffe Feeding, Tiger Training and Meerkat Enrichment. These animals will delight and entertain the children, while educating them as the same time.

Other popular features of the zoo include the Sky Trail High Adventure Course and the Calistoga Splash Park at Glacier Run. Alternatively you can take it all in on the Zoo Tram, which will take you on an intriguing journey of the world's animals.

4. Kentucky Derby Museum

This amazing museum sits on the steps of the historic Churchill Downs and is one of the community's most prized organisations. 5. Broad Run Vineyards

This is one of the Old World family wineries you simply cannot miss out on visiting. Take a tour and visit the old tasting room, or simply relax and soak up the fresh country air while enjoying one of the fine drops.
