Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)
Included with all USA Rentals – Not Valid in Mexico
SLI provides excess liability coverage up to a total of $1,000,000 combined single limit of coverage per occurrence against claims made by third parties for bodily injury, death, and/or property damage caused by operation of the vehicle. EXCLUSIONS APPLY. A partial list is contained in the Rental Contract. Please check at departure.

Coverage Summaries
Provided you abide by the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement, report accidents and/or damage promptly, and avoid prohibited vehicle uses, your coverages include:
- Auto Liability: Statutory and excess Supplemental Liability Insurance up to $1,000,000.
- Vehicle Damage / Loss: Per occurrence or incident, only $1,000 of responsibility. You are covered for amounts in excess of $1,000 under most conditions.
- Trip Reimbursement: Travel Expenses incurred as a result of mechanical breakdown up to $3,000 per tour.
El Monte - International Value Program
This program is only valid for non US/Canadian residents.
Standard Liability
El Monte RV offers VIP coverage which is separate protection that reduces Renters financial responsibility for all physical damage to the Rental Vehicle to the applicable deductible of US$1,000 (US$5,000 for overhead damage and undercarriage damage including entry step, tires and wheels).
VIP is a contractual agreement between the El Monte RV and the Renter, wherein El Monte RV agrees not to collect more than the applicable deductible of US$1,000 per occurrence from Renter for damages to the Rental Vehicle.

Mexico Auto Liability Insurance(MALI)
El Monte RVs Mexico Auto Liability Insurance is required protection which the renter must obtain from El Monte RV when renting an EL Monte RV vehicle and will be traveling to Mexico. Being added to El Monte RVs Mexico Auto Liability Insurance policy provides excellent coverage and eliminates the hassles of trying to obtain insurance at the border.
This insurance provides coverage for physical damage to or total theft of the El Monte RV rental vehicle, third party liability and medical payments. Coverage also includes legal assistance to aid in the prevention of the driver from going to jail.

El Monte
This program is valid for all nationalities worldwide.
All clients are required to either provide or obtain Primary Third Party Liability Insurance up to the US Statutory Limits (these limits vary within each state).
Those clients who do not want to use their own insurance as primary or do not have sufficient insurance or do not have valid insurance for a motorhome, will be required to purchase RLI.
Note that if VIP cover is not taken then the client is liable for the full cost of repair to the vehicle.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
This costs only $9/day and reduces the Campervan liability (or excess) to $0.
Supplementary Liability Insurance (SLI)
This is to protect clients against 3rd party claims if they injure a person or damage someone elses property. Basic Statutory limits for liability and property damage is included in Escape Campervans daily rate. The liability levels change between various states.
If the renters own travel insurance does not include liability cover to US$1,000,000 this can be offered at an additional amount of $9.95/day. The Liability Insurance is called Supplementary Liability Insurance (SLI) and is completely optional.

Moturis RV & Camping World maintains liability insurance coverage on all their rental vehicles for bodily injury and property damage liability claims brought by a third party (other than a passenger) against the renter (and any other driver listed in the rental contract) and/or the company as a result of the operation or use of their rental vehicles. The policy protects the company for USD 5 million and the renter for statutory limits. This basic public liability coverage is included in all rental rates. All coverage and waivers are subject to the express terms of the rental contract.
SLI - Supplemental Liability Insurance
Moturis RV & Camping World maintains supplemental liability insurance coverage on all their rental vehicles for bodily injury and property damage liability claims brought by a third party (other than a passenger) against the renter (and any other driver listed in the rental contract). The policy increases statutory limits to USD 1 million for the renter. This supplemental liability coverage is included in all rental rates. All coverage and waivers are subject to the express terms of the rental contract.
Customer Responsibility with CDW - Collision Damage Waiver
In the event of loss or damage to vehicle while on rent, whether or not due to the fault of customer, customers responsibility for direct and accidental loss (including theft and vandalism) or damage to the vehicle is unlimited. That is, customer is responsible for all loss or damage. All daily rental rates for all vehicles include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). With CDW, the customers responsibility for accidental damage, theft and vandalism (police report is required) to the vehicle is reduced to USD 2,500.00 per occurrence, with the following exceptions:
Exceptions for which there is no reduction in customer’s responsibility for damages:
- caused as a result of use without Moturis RV & Camping World expressed permission or consent
- damage caused by striking overhead objects
- damage caused by freezing or overheating vehicle systems
- all damage caused during any use of off public roads (including at camp grounds, parking lots, service stations, etc)
- undercarriage damage, including tires and wheels
- damage caused from backing up vehicle
- all glass damage
Customer Responsibility with VIP - Vacation Interruption Protection
Included in daily rental rates
- With VIP, the customer’s responsibility for accidental damage is further reduced to USD1,000.00. In case of theft and vandalism to the vehicle, the deductible is USD 1,000.00.
- VIP also covers the expenses in the event of a mechanical breakdown requiring the vehicle to be in repair for more than 12 working hours. Radio, air conditioning, refrigerator, generator, microwave, appliances, automatic step, cruise control are not considered to be mechanical breakdowns. Incurred expenses of USD 30.00 per person per day for lodging and USD 30.00 per group per day for other transportation is provided. A limit of USD 3,000.00 per tour applies and this plan is not valid in case of an accident. Customer must present all receipts for refund of expenses.
VIP coverage is void (I) if customer fails to file an accident/damage police report, or (II) if vehicle is used in violation of the terms of the rental contract.
Deposit for all rentals is USD 1,000.00 (will strictly be enforced, authorized / not charged)
Travel to Mexico
Motorhomes are allowed to travel into Mexico, but such travel must be confirmed in advance. Area restrictions may apply. US or any other liability insurance does not provide coverage in Mexico. The customers therefore must purchase additional liability and CDW insurance before entering Mexico. This insurance, with a premium of USD19 per day, is sold at all depots. Refer to the full terms & conditions for further details.
Road Bear
Standard Liability
All Road Bear RV Rentals includes a Standard Liability of US$1,000 for secondary Comprehensive and Collision coverage for the rented vehicle.
Public Liability Insurance is included and is to cover accidents in the event that the Renter is at fault. The policy protects the Renter/Driver to Statutory Limits (State mandated minimum liability coverage). Liability coverage is applicable in the state where the accident occurred. In addition to this, a bond will be collected at the time of entering into the Rental Contract. Payment of this Bond is only accepted by credit card. The amount above will be authorized blocked) to the credit card account immediately.
