RV Driver and License Requirements

Before you rent an RV, it is a good idea to be aware or your age and license requirements beforehand. To rent a motorhome you will need to fulfill specific criteria, which will vary according to each supplier.

Minimum Age

The minimum age to rent an RV is fairly standard across the industry, with some companies varying this age. The general minimum age to rent a motorhome, without incurring additional fees, is 25.

Authorized drivers can be aged between 21 and 24 to rent and drive an RV; however, they may have to pay an additional fee of around $25 per day.

Drivers on Rental Agreement

When you rent a motorhome, and pick up your vehicle, all drivers will need to be present. Under all circumstances, all drivers must show proof of age and a valid license, while also signing the rental agreement, to become an authorized driver of the motorhome.

License Requirements

To rent a motorhome a valid and full driver's license is required for each driver that will be operating the rental RV. This license must be clearly identifiable and must be in the language of the country in which you are hiring (English). All additional drivers must present their license before they sign the rental agreement, upon pick up of the vehicle.

Foreign customers should also have an International Driver's License or an English translation of the license issued in their home country.
